Optical Illusion Art
Materials: Dot grid paper, pencils, rulers, fine line permanent markers
Process: Students will use the dot grid paper to map out a series of squares. They can then choose one of two ways to add dimension to the squares with either an additional center square or diagonal lines. With all their lines in place, they can then fill in areas with pencil to plan out the optical illusion, filling opposite areas when they meet the dimensional lines. After everything is planned out in pencil, they can then take the fine liner black markers and fill in all the shaded areas to create a bold, contrasting image.
This class is offered by Vibrant West Orange in partnership with the Winter Garden Art Association, made possible, in part, through a generous grant from Duke Energy.
Remember, this class is free for Vibrant Members - purchase your ticket at $0 to confirm registration.
Non-members fee is $8
