Writing Workshop with Elaine Person

People often say, "Someday I'll write a story or a book." Someday is now. Award-winning instructor Elaine Person will guide you toward achieving your writing goals.

This class uses writing prompts (suggestions), such as items, quotations and artwork, which give you direction and make writing easier. We write together, and volunteers share their writing. Positive comments only allowed! We will discuss tools and techniques of writing and various genres. All levels are welcome. Each writer has a unique story to tell.

 This is a FREE class offered by Vibrant West Orange in partnership with the Winter Garden Art Association, made possible through a generous grant from United Arts. 

Elaine Person, writer/instructor/editor/speaker/performer/photographer, is a writing instructor for Crealdé School of Art, Maitland Public Library, art galleries, senior residences, and other locations. She has a parody of King Arthur in Random House’s A Century of College Humor, is published in Florida Writers Association’s Collections, The Florida Writer magazine, Sandhill Review, Not Your Mother’s Book, Poets of Central Florida, Haikuniverse.com, The Five-Two, Encore, Florida State Poets Association’s (FSPA) annual anthology,Cadence (which she co-curates and co-edits), The Isolation Challenge, Fresh Fish, Of Poets and Poetry, and Poetic Visions for the Museum of Art─Deland exhibits and anthologies. Elaine won Saturday Evening Post’s limerick contest. Elaine is the recipient of a Florida Writers Association’s Kaye Coppersmith Award for Writers Helping Writers.

She is the historian for the Florida State Poets Association, and a member of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, the Florida Writers Association, and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. Elaine writes Person-alized poems and stories for all occasions for gifts.
